Club hero Didier Drogba has re-signed with Chelsea on a one-year deal after leaving Turkish side Galatasaray as a free agent.

During his first spell with the Londoners he helped his side win three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the league Cup twice and the Champions League in 2012 when he scored the winning penalty against Bayern Munich.

He left Chelsea that summer and after a brief spell in the Chinese Super League joined Galatasaray in January 2013.

At Chelsea he will be re-united with coach and friend Jose Mourinho who had earlier said Drogba “belongs” at Stamford Bridge.

He has made 341 appearance for ‘The Blues’ scoring 157 goals.

He is the club’s record scorer in European competition with 34 goals.
